Biography
Karla is a third-year student with a double major in Political Science & Chemistry at the University of Colorado Boulder. While these majors may seem to be at opposite ends of the spectrum, she hopes to bridge gaps between science and policy. She is also passionate about understanding the role that humans play in climate change, advocating for BIPOC, and underserved communities. She is interested in advocating for policy changes that can help lessen the effects of industrialization on diverse communities in the US and other countries. With her previous research internships with RECCS and NASA, she hopes to bring her unique perspective to assist the CIRES Education and Outreach team with their programs.
